Leger Fernandez ran on a progressive platform that included Medicare for All and a Green New Deal

[WASHINGTON, DC] – June 2, 2020 – The Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC today congratulated Teresa Leger Fernandez for her commanding victory in the Democratic primary for New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District.

“Teresa ran and won on an unapologetically progressive platform that includes Medicare for All, humane immigration reform, and a Green New Deal,” said CPC PAC Co-Chair Pramila Jayapal. “Her victory is proof that voters are calling for and electing bold progressive leaders, and I look forward to working alongside Teresa in Congress.”

Teresa Leger Fernandez has spent her life working on behalf of New Mexico’s communities, promoting tribal sovereignty, voting rights, and securing hundreds of millions in funding to help build schools, health clinics, businesses and critical infrastructure in NM. If elected in November, she will be the first woman, and first Latina, to represent the district.

CPC PAC will continue to provide support for Leger Fernandez in the general election, and looks forward to welcoming her as a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC in the next Congress.
