Washington — CPC PAC Co-Chairs and Board Members Pramila Jayapal, Greg Casar, Maxwell Frost, Delia Ramirez, Chuy Garcia, Jamie Raskin and Lloyd Doggett released the following statement:

“Randy Villegas is the best candidate to win in November because he’s the candidate voters can trust to stand up to special interests, oppose ICE, and fight for universal health care. That’s exactly why the CPC PAC was proud to endorse him and will continue to do everything possible to get him across the finish line.

We disagree with the DCCC’s decision to attempt to tip the scales in this race. Voters, not the DCCC, should pick Democratic nominees. The Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC and our members have consistently advocated for DCCC neutrality in competitive House primaries, and the DCCC should have observed that policy in this race.

Across the country, pro-working class candidates are proving they can take on establishment politics and win. Randy Villegas can too. He has been endorsed by local leaders, labor unions, Latino leaders, members of Congress, and Sen. Bernie Sanders. We urge everyone who wants to build a pro-working class Democratic Party to step up and support Randy Villegas’ campaign.”
