WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) announced its endorsement of Robert Garcia for California’s 42nd Congressional District.

“The Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC is proud to endorse Mayor Robert Garcia for Congress,” said Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC Co-Chairs Pramila Jayapal, Mark Pocan, and Jamie Raskin. “As Long Beach Mayor, Robert has turned bold ideas into real progressive change. His leadership in Long Beach helped establish the city’s first universal basic income pilot, launch free community college programs, enact a $15 minimum wage, and deliver a robust and equitable public health response during the pandemic. Robert has been a leader in the fight for Medicare for All, and knows how to make progressive change happen. He will be a strong and proven addition to our caucus.”

“I’m humbled and honored to be endorsed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “The CPC is the moral center of our party—fighting for equity and to create opportunity for every family. In Long Beach, we put our progressive values into action. I am excited to join the fearless members of the CPC and do the same in Congress.”

In 2020, the PAC raised $4.4 million and launched its first-ever independent expenditure arm, helping elect eight new candidates to Congress.
