WASHINGTON — Today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) announced its endorsement of California Assemblymember Luz Rivas for California’s 29th Congressional District.

“As an assemblymember for the community she grew up in, Luz Rivas has focused on uplifting and empowering underrepresented communities, leading to ensure universal free school lunches for students, writing legislation to identify and provide services to homeless youth and creating the California Youth Empowerment Commission, said Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC Co-Chairs Mark Pocan, Pramila Jayapal, and Jamie Raskin. “Born to an immigrant family, and an engineer and the founder of a nonprofit that encourages and assists young girls in pursuing careers in science, engineering, and technology, Luz will bring a unique and valued perspective to Congress. We enthusiastically endorse her campaign.”

“I am honored to have earned the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC endorsement,” said Luz Rivas. “As an assemblymember, I championed bold climate solutions that focused on disadvantaged communities and protected workers’ rights. I plan to continue to be a voice for my district in Congress as we pursue progressive solutions to our nation’s most pressing issues.”

The CPC PAC is the political arm of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest Democratic ideological caucus. The CPC PAC exists to elect strong progressive leaders to Congress who share our vision for America’s future and will embody the present and future of the progressive movement. In the 2022 cycle, the CPC PAC raised over $4 million and helped to elect 17 new members to Congress.
