WASHINGTON — Today the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) announced its endorsement of LaMonica McIver for New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District.
“The youngest woman ever elected to Newark’s Municipal Council and current Council President, LaMonica McIver has maintained a steadfast commitment to championing the needs and aspirations of every Newark resident and will bring that same dedication to Congress,” said CPC PAC Co-Chairs Mark Pocan, Pramila Jayapal and Jamie Raskin. “LaMonica is running on a platform of combating environmental injustice, raising the minimum wage, promoting affordable housing, and expanding access to affordable childcare and early childhood education. We are proud to endorse her campaign to serve New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District.”
“I am proud to accept the endorsement of the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC in the race to represent the people of New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District,” LaMonica McIver said. “My work as Council President in Newark has been centered on making New Jersey affordable for all, instead of just the few. Receiving this endorsement stands as an affirmation of that work, and I look forward to working with the members of the CPC in Washington.”
The CPC PAC is the political arm of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest Democratic ideological caucus. The CPC PAC exists to elect strong progressive leaders to Congress who share our vision for America’s future and will embody the present and future of the progressive movement. In the 2022 cycle, the CPC PAC raised over $4 million and helped to elect 17 new members to Congress.
