Washington — Today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) announced it has endorsed Nebraska state Senator John Cavanaugh in the May 12th primary election for Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.

“As a state legislator, John Cavanaugh has proven to be a fierce champion for Nebraskans. His long record of protecting workers’ rights and fighting to lower costs for families has put everyday Nebraskans at the forefront of his agenda,” said CPC PAC Co-Chairs Pramila Jayapal and Maxwell Frost. “In Congress, John will fight to end the Trump administration’s attack on our health care and build an economy that is more affordable for working people. We are thrilled to endorse his campaign for Congress.”

“I’m looking forward to joining the CPC on the frontlines of the fight to protect Social Security and health care, lower the cost of living, and hold Trump and his cronies accountable when they cheat Americans,” said John Cavanaugh.

Over the past three election cycles, the CPC PAC has raised over $13 million and invested in progressive candidates across the country. Over the decade, a majority of CPC PAC’s pre-primary endorsements have gone on to win their race in the general election. In 2024, the CPC was the only ideological caucus to send new members to Congress in 50% or more of races in which its affiliated PAC made a pre-primary endorsement.
