WASHINGTON — Today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) announced its endorsement of Joe Kerr in the primary for California’s 40th Congressional District.

“As a decorated second-generation firefighter and longtime labor leader, Joe Kerr is a dedicated public servant who has spent his life promoting the common good and standing up for working people,” said Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC Co-Chairs Mark Pocan, Pramila Jayapal and Jamie Raskin. “Joe is committed to working to create an economy that works for everyone by increasing wages and ensuring major corporations pay their fair share. Saving the environment was a crucial part of his mission as a firefighter and we strongly endorse his campaign to continue that mission in Congress, where his unique expertise will inform his fight to reduce our carbon footprint and tackle environmental injustice.”

“I am honored to have received the endorsement from the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC,” said Joe Kerr. “For decades, I have championed climate action, workers’ rights, equality in the workplace and rebuilding the middle class. I am excited about this partnership and look forward to flipping CA-40 blue, unseating MAGA extremist Republican Young Kim and delivering real solutions for Californians.”

The CPC PAC is the political arm of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest Democratic ideological caucus. The CPC PAC exists to elect strong progressive leaders to Congress who share our vision for America’s future and will embody the present and future of the progressive movement. In the 2022 cycle, the CPC PAC raised over $4 million and helped to elect 17 new members to Congress.
