WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) announced its endorsement of Greg Casar for Texas’ 35th Congressional District, marking the CPC PAC’s first endorsement of a new challenger candidate in the 2022 cycle.

Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC Co-Chairs Mark Pocan, Pramila Jayapal, and Jamie Raskin released the following joint statement:

“Since before he was an elected official, Greg Casar has consistently been delivering for working families across Texas and putting community needs over corporations and the ultra-wealthy. His vision for a better Texas – where people know their basic rights are protected, where they can afford health care and housing, and where they know the lights will stay on in the summer and winter – puts working families first. We are proud to endorse Greg Casar for Congress, and we look forward to helping him win on March 1.”

“We’re building a movement of folks from San Antonio to Austin who are ready to fight for Medicare for All, good jobs, reproductive rights, and a functional electric grid,” said Greg Casar. “I’m proud to have earned the endorsement of a caucus led by some of our greatest progressive champions, and I’m ready to get to work alongside them to fight and deliver for Texas working families.”

In 2020, the PAC raised $4.4 million and launched its first-ever independent expenditure arm, helping elect eight new candidates to Congress.
