Washington — Today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) announced its endorsement of Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee for Texas’s 18th congressional district.

“As the youngest person and first African-American to serve as chief civil lawyer for Texas’s largest county, Christian Menefee has a demonstrated record of standing up to Republican overreach and delivering results for working families,” said CPC PAC Co-Chairs Pramila Jayapal, Greg Casar and Maxwell Frost. “He has won multi-million dollar settlements holding corporations accountable for emissions deception and deceptive marketing and has protected communities by taking on polluters and discriminatory landfill expansion. He has taken on Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton and the Trump administration. Christian is the proven fighter Texas’s 18th district needs. We are proud to back his campaign.”

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC,” said Christian Menefee. “They represent the kind of bold, principled leadership we need more of in Washington. As Harris County Attorney, I’ve gone toe-to-toe with Greg Abbott and Donald Trump when they’ve tried to take away our rights or defund our communities—and I’ve held corporations accountable when they’ve exploited the people I serve. In Congress, I’ll bring that same grit and strategy to stand up for working families, protect our democracy, and bring real resources home to the 18th District.”

Over the past three election cycles, the CPC PAC has raised over $13 million and invested in progressive candidates across the country. Over the decade, a majority of CPC PAC’s pre-primary endorsements have gone on to win their race in the general election. In 2024, the CPC was the only ideological caucus to send new members to Congress in 50% or more of races in which its affiliated PAC made a pre-primary endorsement.
