Washington — Today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) congratulated longtime firefighter and union president Bob Brooks on winning the Democratic nomination for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
“We are very excited to congratulate Bob Brooks on his victory in the Democratic primary for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District,” said CPC PAC Co-Chairs Pramila Jayapal, Greg Casar and Maxwell Frost. “Throughout this campaign, Bob has spoken about his experiences picking up multiple jobs just to cover the bills and deciding between paying the mortgage or medical expenses. That’s why he’ll be a steadfast advocate for family-first solutions like raising the minimum wage, funding universal pre-K and passing the PRO Act to benefit working-class communities like the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. Republicans spent more than a million dollars in a failed attempt to derail Bob’s candidacy because they know his brand of progressive populist politics will appeal to citizens who are being failed by Republican Ryan McKenzie. We proudly backed Bob early in this race and look forward to supporting him in the general election to flip this seat.”
The Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC invested $140,000 to support Brooks and Medicare for All PAC’s independent expenditure arm invested $100,000 in support of his campaign.
Over the past three election cycles, the CPC PAC has raised over $13 million and invested in progressive candidates across the country. Over the decade, a majority of CPC PAC’s pre-primary endorsements have gone on to win their race in the general election. In 2024, the CPC was the only ideological caucus to send new members to Congress in 50% or more of races in which its affiliated PAC made a pre-primary endorsement.
