Washington, D.C., June 13, 2018 – The Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) – the political arm of the 78-member Congressional Progressive Caucus – today congratulated CPC PAC endorsed candidates Leslie Cockburn in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District and Steven Horsford in Nevada’s 4th Congressional District. CPC PAC has also endorsed Jason Golden in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, where he is currently leading in votes.

“Candidates endorsed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC continue to receive strong support in their communities and last night’s results show that voters across the country are ready for leaders who will stand up to President Trump and fight for bold, progressive policies,” said Rep. Mark Pocan, Co-Chair of the CPC PAC. “From expanding access to health care to more Americans, to finding solutions to make college more affordable, our candidates are ready to tackle our nation’s most pressing issues. Whether it’s Virginia or Nevada, progressive candidates have a real shot at winning elections this fall and I’m excited to work alongside them to turn the House blue and create positive change.”

Leslie Cockburn has long fought for the people of Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, having challenged corporations and special interests that sought to exploit Virginia for its natural resources without consideration for the people or the environment. She is committed to standing up for environmental laws, strengthening our health care system, fighting to make college more affordable, and bringing broadband to more of our rural communities. Cockburn will continue her fight in Washington and is the right choice for Virginia.

Steven Horsford is a progressive champion who will fight for Nevada’s families and he’s committed to expanding economic opportunity, making prescription drugs more affordable, and enacting policies that will strengthen families and communities. He will stand up to the Trump Administration and fight against the President’s racist rhetoric and harmful immigration policies. Horsford – a former member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus – is ready to make government start working again for the people of Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.

CPC PAC will continue to provide support for Cockburn and Horsford, and looks forward to welcoming them as members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus – the largest values-based caucus in the House of Representatives – in the 116th Congress.
