Washington — Today, Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC Co-Chairs Greg Casar (TX-35), Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), and Maxwell Frost (FL-10) announced the “Democrats Show Up” campaign, a new initiative the CPC PAC is leading to send progressive members of Congress to town hall-style events in red districts across the nation. CPC Chair Rep. Casar previewed the initiative on Inside with Jen Psaki over the weekend.

At these upcoming events, members will hear from constituents of Republican members who are refusing to have town halls. As the GOP hides, progressives will listen and respond to Americans’ concerns about Musk, Trump, and House Republicans’ attacks on crucial services like Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security.

“When Republicans hide, Democrats show up. While the GOP hides from their own constituents, progressives are heading straight into red districts to listen, engage, and fight for working people,” said Chair Casar. “This weekend, I will attend a town hall in Congressman Chip Roy’s district to answer questions about the attacks on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.”

“Americans deserve to hear from their elected officials, even if some of those officials hide in their basements afraid of their constituents,” Congressman Mark Pocan said. “I’ve been happy to travel to western Wisconsin and speak to Derrick Van Orden’s constituents about his vote to gut Medicaid, SNAP, and public education to pay for a $4.5 trillion tax cut for billionaires like Musk and Trump. Van Orden is ignoring his constituents because he can’t justify to their faces about this giant Republican rip-off.”
